Baseball Recap: Sherrard Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rockridge, Sherrard was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Annawan-Wethersfield Titans. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

Harrison Curry was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brylan Bender, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Sherrard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Sherrard is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-10.

Sherrard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-2 victory against Monmouth-Roseville on the 16th.
