Volleyball Recap: Cullman Comes Up Short

Cullman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Plainview Bears. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Bears when the teams met back in September of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cullman was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-18.

Plainview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Charlie Richey out in front who had ten digs and two aces. What's more, Richey posted two assists, the most she's had over her last eight contests. Libby Henderson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Cullman's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Plainview, they pushed their record up to 26-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Cullman has already played their next match (against Holly Pond), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Plainview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Buckhorn on the 2nd.
