Recap: South Spartans vs. North Stars
It was a good run, but The South Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 28-20 to North. South was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, South still got an impressive performance from Webster James, who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
North got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mika Lencioni out in front who picked up 129 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Lencioni was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 62 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Haner, who threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes.
South's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.0 points per game. As for North, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.
South does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North will head out on the road to face off against Corcoran at 7:00 a.m. on Friday.
