Basketball Recap: Brighter Horizons Academy Takes a Loss

If Brighter Horizons Academy was riding high fresh off their 69-19 takedown of Poetry Community Christian last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Brighter Horizons Academy Stars lost to the Bishop Dunne Falcons on the road by a 76-61 margin on Friday. The Stars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Brighter Horizons Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Bishop Dunne, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 3-15 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brighter Horizons Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hyde Park at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Bishop Dunne also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Regents at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
