Recap: South Wake Sabres vs. Chatham HomeSchool Thunder
There's no place like home for the South Wake Sabres, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 73-66 victory over Chatham HomeSchool on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Ira Wilson was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Santos, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
When it comes to explaining why Chatham HomeSchool lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gray Cable. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Teague, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
South Wake pushed their record up to 13-7 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.27 points. As for Chatham HomeSchool, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.
South Wake and St. David's will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Chatham HomeSchool, they will square off against Chatham Charter at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Chatham Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
