Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Paul Bishop and Ty'korian Campbell Lead Blue Ridge to Victory

Blue Ridge hadn't done well against Travelers Rest recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Everything went the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers' way against the Travelers Rest Devildogs as the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers made off with a 65-40 victory. That 25 point margin sets a new team best for the Fighting Tigers this season.

Blue Ridge was led to victory by Ty'Korian Campbell and Paul Bishop. Campbell went 8 for 11 on his way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals, while Bishop went 6 of 13 en route to 19 points along with six assists and six boards. Bishop has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase Hoover, who posted 11 points.

Blue Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Blue Ridge's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Travelers Rest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blue Ridge will challenge Pickens at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Blue Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season. As for Travelers Rest, they will take on Belton-Honea Path at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
