Baseball Recap: Pacelli Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pittsville, Pacelli was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Tri-County Penguins get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Penguins: they've now won seven in a row.

The result came thanks to Jaden Garski's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Pacelli's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Tri-County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pacelli will welcome Assumption at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Royals have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Tri-County, they will host Lourdes Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
