Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is North Hunterdon's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

While North Hunterdon's win against Watchung Hills Regional wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Warriors 9-8 on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

North Hunterdon got a big performance out of Zach Fronio, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Fronio a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Famolari, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

North Hunterdon is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Watchung Hills Regional, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-7 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Hunterdon will square off against Middlesex at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Watchung Hills Regional, they will challenge Summit at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
