Softball Recap: Manchester Wins Going Away Against New Haven

Manchester's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the New Haven Bulldogs as they made off with a 17-8 victory. The Squires might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by nine runs or more this season.

Allie Egolf was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Izzy Renz was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

The win got Manchester back to even at 10-10. As for New Haven, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Looking ahead, Manchester will square off against Whitko at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Squires' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for New Haven, they will head out on the road to take on Bellmont at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
