Football Recap: Legacy Starts off Right with Win over Somerset Academy Losee + How To Watch

Legacy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 48-22 margin over the Somerset Academy Losee Lions.

Zaione Henderson had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 186 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. Those 186 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ky'Ree Perkins, who picked up 78 receiving yards and two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Legacy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Somerset Academy Losee only rushed for 130 rushing yards.

Legacy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Maurice Collins and Dayshawn Bucklew. Collins got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Somerset Academy Losee still got an impressive performance from Kieran Daniel, who rushed for 77 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Kenneth Ware, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legacy is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Somerset Academy Losee, they will take on Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
