Soccer Game Preview: Kenai Central vs. Grace Christian

The Kenai Central Kardinals will head out on the road to square off against the Grace Christian Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Kenai Central is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Soldotna, who was ranked 13th at the time (Kenai Central was ranked eighth). The Kardinals came out on top in a nail-biter against the Stars on Saturday, sneaking past 1-0. Kenai Central wouldn't have won without Katie Johnson, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grace Christian). They blew past Redington 10-3 on Tuesday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-1.

Grace Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Kenai Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Everything went Kenai Central's way against Grace Christian in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Kenai Central made off with a 5-0 win. Will the Kardinals repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
