Preview: Falcon Falcons vs. Vista Ridge Wolves

Falcon is 2-8 against Vista Ridge since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Falcon Falcons are on the road again and play against the Vista Ridge Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Falcon really took it to Conifer for the full four quarters, racking up a 85-43 win on the road. With Falcon ahead 49-24 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Falcon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eric Graham, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. The game was Graham's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Cox, who scored 17 points.

Meanwhile, after only 16 points in their last matchup, Vista Ridge made sure to put some points up on the board against Poudre on Saturday. Vista Ridge strolled past Poudre with points to spare, taking the game 70-56.

Vista Ridge can attribute much of their success to Quentin Maldonado, who scored 25 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Josiah Johnson, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals.

Valor Christian's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Falcon's defeat dropped theirs to 1-1.

Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's contest: Falcon have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 42.3% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Vista Ridge, though, as they've only nailed 30.3% of theirs this season. Given Falcon's sizeable advantage in that area, Vista Ridge will need to find a way to close that gap. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.

Falcon was taken down by Vista Ridge 56-26 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Falcon, Caleb Kelley (who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 0 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
