Baseball Recap: Cibola Wins Going Away Against St. Pius X

Cibola won against Rio Grande last Thursday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Cibola Cougars put the hurt on the St. Pius X Sartans with a sharp 13-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Isaac Harvey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Harvey was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Daniel Kean was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jacob Escobedo, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Cibola and bumps their season record up to 5-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7 runs. As for St. Pius X, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Cibola will take on Eldorado at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eldorado's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Cibola's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Pius X, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
