Softball Game Preview: Lakewood Spartans vs. Southeast Seminoles

The Lakewood Spartans will face off against the Southeast Seminoles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 18 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Lakewood and eight for Southeast.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lakewood's offense. They lost 15-0 to Northeast last Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Southeast also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Cardinal Mooney on Thursday, falling 15-0.

Southeast saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reina Mendoza, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Lakewood suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Southeast in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
