Javontae Ross leads Powers Catholic to victory over Bay City Western

The Powers Catholic Chargers can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past Bay City Western 78-58. Given Powers Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Bay City Western is ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Javontae Ross continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-8 from long range and almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine assists. He hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Kelly, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Powers Catholic pushed their record up to 15-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Bay City Western, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Powers Catholic will look to defend their home court on Monday against Dow at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Powers Catholic's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Bay City Western, they will head out on the road to challenge Grand Blanc at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
