Basketball Game Preview: Grand Terrace Titans vs. Viewpoint Patriots

The Grand Terrace Titans and the Viewpoint Patriots will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Viewpoint is hoping to do what West Valley couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Grand Terrace's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Grand Terrace breezed by West Valley to the tune of 67-24. With the Titans ahead 37-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Grand Terrace had a senior duo take command as Reggie Caldwell posted 16 points and Deisyn Payne scored 14 points. Rylan Caldwell was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Viewpoint took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 67-40 victory over Schurr. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Spartans are ranked 955th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grand Terrace has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Viewpoint, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.
