It's playoff time, and Flatonia had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Charlotte Trojans on Saturday. 11 seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Jalee Trussell was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Trussell was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Flatonia got a massive performance out of Brynlee Zimmerman, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kara Croyle, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Flatonia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.
The win made it two in a row for Flatonia and bumps their season record up to 15-10-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Charlotte, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.
Flatonia wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-10 win against Holland on the 9th. Charlotte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
