Softball Recap: Preston Comes Up Short

If Preston was feeling good fresh off their 12-4 takedown of East Fairmont on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights came up short against the Tucker County Mountain Lions on Friday, falling 13-7. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Mountain Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Preston got a big performance out of Ava Thistlethwaite, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Rhylinn Sanders, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Preston's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Tucker County, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mountain Lions beat Preston by a score of 8-7 later that day.
