Basketball Game Preview: Sandusky Blue Streaks vs. Norwalk Truckers

The Sandusky Blue Streaks are taking a road trip to face off against the Norwalk Truckers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sandusky is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.

Sandusky took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 61-54 victory over Madison Comprehensive. The win almost wasn't to be: the Blue Streaks were down 34-18 in the second quarter.

Sandusky got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Khiya Rameau out in front who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Another player making a difference was Shauntha Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Sandusky smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 21 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Norwalk waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 60-36 margin over the Green Bears. Given the Truckers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Green Bears are ranked 374th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sandusky's record is now 5-8. As for Norwalk, their record is now 13-1.

Sandusky came up short against Norwalk in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 63-59. Can Sandusky avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
