Claremont extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 13-12-1 in the process. They blew past the Diamond Bar Brahmas 6-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 1-0 victory on Thursday.
The result came thanks to Wyatt Green's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Claremont is 6-2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-10 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ramzey Farah, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Luke Porras, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
As for Diamond Bar, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-22 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.
On Diamond Bar's side, they got a good showing from Jayden Henness, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Henness has allowed since back in March.
On the hitting side, Diamond Bar saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Tortorelli, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Tortorelli has hit this season.
Looking ahead, Claremont will face off against Western Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Diamond Bar, they will head out to face off against California at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
