Softball Recap: Gervais Comes Up Short

Gervais extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 13-8-1 in the process. They lost 14-3 to the Regis Rams. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rams this season, with their most recent defeat being a 14-2 loss on Friday.

As for Regis, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 14 matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

For Regis' part, Addie Bishop made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Bishop has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Adams, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Hendricks, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Gervais will welcome Toledo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Regis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
