Basketball Recap: Weeping Water Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

If Brownell Talbot wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Weeping Water, they should've done a better job of containing Kalison Miller. The Weeping Water Indians came out on top against the Brownell Talbot Raiders by a score of 54-44 on Thursday thanks in part to Miller, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

Brinkley Mcadams was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave her a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Brownell Talbot lost, don't look at Abbi Gibbs. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. Gibbs has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 24 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Nichols, who posted nine points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Weeping Water's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7. As for Brownell Talbot, their record is now 9-9.

Weeping Water will square off against Sterling at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Brownell Talbot, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-0 victory against Parkview Christian on the 25th.
