Football Game Preview: Tascosa Rebels vs. Coronado Mustangs + How To Watch

Tascosa is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will take on the Coronado Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Tascosa's defense has only allowed 11.5 points per game this season, so Coronado's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Tascosa is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since October 25, 2024 last Thursday. They fell just short of Permian by a score of 23-21. The Rebels have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Tascosa's defeat came about despite a quality game from Coltyn Fulton, who rushed for 72 yards and one score, and also threw for 98 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Coronado's offense. They took a blow against Cooper on Friday, falling 59-0.

Tascosa's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Tascosa beat Coronado 29-16 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
