Baseball Recap: Crittenden County Victorious

While Crittenden County's victory against Hopkins County Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Crittenden County narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hopkins County Central 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Storm: they've now won eight in a row.

Hudson Stokes made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 1-for-3. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.6 stolen bases per game.

Stokes wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eli Lovell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Crittenden County pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.
