Recap: Evergreen Lutheran Eagles vs. Rainier Christian Mustangs
The Evergreen Lutheran Eagles stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Rainier Christian with a sharp 49-27 victory. Given Evergreen Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Rainier Christian is ranked 268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gracie Cushman, who scored nine points. Luci Ramey was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Evergreen Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Rainier Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evergreen Lutheran will take on Concordia Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Concordia Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Rainier Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pope John Paul II at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pope John Paul II is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
