Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Viewmont

Viewmont won the last time they faced Roy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Royals. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

London Dickerson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marlee Moser, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season. Raegyn Dahlke was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

The win got Viewmont back to even at 10-10. As for Roy, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-18.

Coming up, Viewmont will head out to take on Olympus at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Roy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Farmington at 3:30 p.m. The Phoenix have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.83 runs per game on average), something the Royals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
