Preview: Franklin Academy Huskies vs. Norwood-Norfolk Flyers

The Franklin Academy Huskies will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Norwood-Norfolk Flyers at 7:15 p.m. The timing is sure in Franklin Academy's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Norwood-Norfolk has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.

Last Thursday, Franklin Academy ended up a good deal behind Canton and lost 53-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Franklin Academy has scored all season.

Despite the defeat, Franklin Academy saw an underclassman step up: Bradley Poupore scored nine points along with two blocks. That's the first time this season that Poupore posted two or more blocks.

Meanwhile, Norwood-Norfolk had to suffer through a rough 82-29 loss at the hands of Potsdam. While losing is never fun, Norwood-Norfolk can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 743rd, while Potsdam is ranked 246th).

Franklin Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Norwood-Norfolk, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything came up roses for Franklin Academy against Norwood-Norfolk when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 71-27 victory. With Franklin Academy ahead 35-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.
