Baseball Recap: Auburn Takes a Loss

Auburn came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the West Genesee Wildcats, falling 13-4. The Maroons have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Jacob Morrell was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Myles McBride, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for West Genesee, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

Coincidentally, Auburn and West Genesee will both be playing Cicero-North Syracuse the next time they take the field. The Maroons will head out to face the Northstars at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
