Flag Football Recap: West Covina Comes Up Short

In Saturday's Canine Competition, West Covina had to take the L. They were outmatched by the South Hills Huskies and fell 42-8. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Haley Ramos, who threw for 186 yards and four TDs. That's the most passing touchdowns Ramos has posted since back in August. Caitlyn Penate helped Ramos out on the ground, picking up 56 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 37 yards and one touchdown.

West Covina's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for South Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

West Covina wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 41-0 victory against Victor Valley on the 27th. As for South Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-0 win against San Dimas on the 27th.
