Football Recap: Penn Manor Comes Up Short

After flying high against Reading last Friday, Penn Manor came back down to earth. The Comets were dealt a 34-7 defeat at the hands of the Hempfield Black Knights on Friday. The Comets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Connor Smeigh threw for 88 yards and one TD. Jalen Dupree was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Randy Guthrie rushed for 35 yards.

Penn Manor dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hempfield, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Penn Manor has already played their next contest, a 39-6 win against Littlestown on the 2nd. As for Hempfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 38-28 defeat against Wilson on the 3rd.
