Paxton took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They took down Freeport 56-41. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 355th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Altha played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 69-46 to Liberty County. The Wildcats have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Altha's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Paxton, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
