Softball Recap: Dublin Gaels vs. California Grizzlies
Dublin had lost seven straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-16 to make it eight. They lost 18-7 to the California Grizzlies. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Gaels have suffered against the Grizzlies since April 25, 2017.
Sarah Bull was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Carr, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
As for California, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The result was nothing new for California, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.
On California's side, Audrey Cotton looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cotton has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, California got a massive performance out of Jayda Crosby, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave Crosby a new career-high. Kayla Steel also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
