Soccer Recap: SouthWest Edgecombe Comes Up Short

After flying high against Nash Central on Wednesday, SouthWest Edgecombe came back down to earth. The Cougars took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rocky Mount Gryphons on Thursday. One thing that sure didn't help SouthWest Edgecombe was the trouble they got from the refs, as JUSTIN SALAZAR and CHASE TAYLOR were both handed red cards.

LOGAN WEBB and TAYLOR scored all three of SouthWest Edgecombe's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

SouthWest Edgecombe now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Rocky Mount, with the win, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 4-8.

SouthWest Edgecombe wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 6-3 victory against Nash Central on the 22nd. As for Rocky Mount, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-2 defeat against Southern Wayne on the 22nd.
