Basketball Recap: Chandler Takes a Loss

Chandler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Basha Bears, falling 67-46. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-23.

When it comes to explaining why Chandler lost, don't look at Karina Hunter. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 8 to rack up 11 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Moreland, who posted 13 points.

Even though they lost, Chandler smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Basha got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Amira Reynolds out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Reynolds also posted a 75% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Grace Beckler was another key player, going 8 for 13 on her way to 18 points and eight boards.

Chandler's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Basha, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.

Coming up, Chandler and Hamilton will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Basha, they will take on Casteel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Basha is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season.
