Baseball Recap: Penfield Starts Season with Victory Against Fairport

Penfield had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Fairport Red Raiders a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since April 2, 2024.

Adam Knight looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Penfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Natale, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
