Baseball Recap: Cumberland Takes a Loss

Cumberland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Deptford Spartans. That's two games in a row now that the Colts have lost by exactly four runs.

Trevor Brogen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jack Bodine, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cumberland's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Deptford, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season.

Cumberland will welcome Hammonton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deptford, they will square off against Camden County Vo-Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
