Softball Game Preview: Wahama White Falcons vs. Greenbrier West Cavaliers

The Wahama White Falcons will square off against the Greenbrier West Cavaliers at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Wahama took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Sherman by a score of 10-7.

Elissa Hoffman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven runs (all of which were unearned) on ten hits.

At the plate, Audrey Reynolds was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalyn Christian, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier West waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They didn't even let the Golden Knights on the board, marking their second-straight 12-0 shutout. Give the Cavaliers' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Greenbrier West's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Wahama, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season.
