Football Game Preview: Lehigh Lightning vs. Sarasota Sailors + Official Tickets

The Lehigh Lightning are taking a road trip to square off against the Sarasota Sailors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lehigh made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Dunbar, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lightning fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 21-19 on Friday. The Lightning haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Although Lehigh took the loss, they still got scores from Ja'Kiee Robinson, J'Zaya Brown, and Levi Mckenzie.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sarasota, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They snuck past Lakewood Ranch with a 41-37 win on Friday.

Lehigh better keep an eye on Colton Dempsey. He was instrumental in Sarasota's win, rushing for 184 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Hudson West, who threw for 163 yards and three TDs.

Sarasota was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 253 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lehigh's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Sarasota, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Lehigh beat Sarasota 19-10 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lightning since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
