Softball Game Preview: Cloverdale Eagles vs. Upper Lake Cougars

The Cloverdale Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Upper Lake Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Cloverdale will head out to face Upper Lake after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. The Eagles came up short against St. Helena, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cloverdale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Bird, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Fort Bragg hit Upper Lake with a seven-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars lost 13-3 to the Timberwolves. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Timberwolves recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Upper Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Cloverdale, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 14-2.

Cloverdale was able to grind out a solid win over Upper Lake when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
