Colton has gone 9-1 against San Gorgonio recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets will look to defend their home field against the Spartans at 3:45 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Friday just wasn't the day for Colton's offense. They fell 4-0 to Rialto on Friday. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Jason Alvarado was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, Kyle Mejia made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, San Gorgonio was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Jurupa Hills, falling 10-1.

San Gorgonio saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Edgar Soto, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

San Gorgonio's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Colton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Colton was able to grind out a solid victory over San Gorgonio in their previous meeting back in March, winning 5-2. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
