Volleyball Recap: Brown Deer Comes Up Short

Brown Deer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Shorewood Greyhounds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Brown Deer took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Idimiawa Igoni paced Brown Deer's offense, picking up nine kills. Igoni got some help from Jalisa Washington and her 11 assists. Igoni was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Brown Deer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Shorewood, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Brown Deer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Waukesha West on the 6th. As for Shorewood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Dominican on the 6th.
