Softball Game Preview: Viewpoint Patriots vs. Crossroads Roadrunners

Viewpoint is a perfect 10-0 against Crossroads since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Roadrunners at 3:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Viewpoint has nine straight victories, Crossroads has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Viewpoint's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Archer School for Girls.

Emjay Peck made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 20 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Peck wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Kreshek, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Skylar Meehan also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Crossroads lost 13-3 to Brentwood School on Thursday.

Viewpoint's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.8 runs this season. As for Crossroads, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Viewpoint took their victory against Crossroads in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 22-0 score. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Roadrunners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
