Recap: Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs vs. Cedar Key Sharks
The Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs posted their biggest victory since December 4, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 52-30 margin over Cedar Key. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Meadowbrook Academy.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meadowbrook Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gaige Daugherty, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Frontanes, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Meadowbrook Academy pushed their record up to 10-5 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Cedar Key, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meadowbrook Academy will take on Saint Francis Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Saint Francis Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday. As for Cedar Key, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Northside Christian Academy.
