Baseball Recap: Charter Oak Wins Going Away Against Wilson

Charter Oak lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wilson, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's match. The Chargers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Wildcats on Tuesday. This was payback for the Chargers, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Charter Oak got a great performance from Marcus Reese as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Reese also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Chargers are 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Mason Rosales was a standout: he scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joaquin Cervantes, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Charter Oak's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wilson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
