Volleyball Recap: Badger/Greenbush-Middle River's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

If Badger/Greenbush-Middle River was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Goodridge/Grygla on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gators fell 3-1 to the Sacred Heart Eagles on Thursday. The Gators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-22, 25-9, 25-14.

Teagan Landsrud paced Badger/Greenbush-Middle River's offense, picking up 16 kills. Landsrud got some help from Zairyn Wimpfheimer and her 26 assists. Kailey Hanson and Kate Harder kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

With the loss, Badger/Greenbush-Middle River broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Sacred Heart, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Thief River Falls on the 13th. As for Sacred Heart, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Blackduck on the 13th.
