Baseball Recap: Union County Takes a Loss

Union County lost against Knightstown on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Patriots came up short against the Panthers, falling 26-6. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Union County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Martinez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Union County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Knightstown, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union County will square off against Greensburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Knightstown, they will challenge North Decatur at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
