Game recap: Rancho Cucamonga High School Football Team takes down Santiago

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) extended its winning streak to five games with a 33-17 victory over Santiago (Corona, Calif.) on Saturday.

The Cougars were up 26-9 at the half after taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by Jermel Walker in the first quarter.

Rancho Cucamonga saw its 17-point halftime lead fall to 16 entering the fourth.

RC's most effective player was Tahaan Goodman. The senior ran for two touchdowns. A member of the Top 25 Safeties, Goodman has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.



Dylan Merchant played well for the Sharks. The senior threw one touchdown.

Led by Chris Hawkins, the Cougars came into the game allowing 12.3 points per game. Santiago's 17 points were well below its season average of 33.9 per game.
