Game recap: Defense leads North Davidson past Lexington

North Davidson (Lexington, N.C.) received a huge boost from its defense against Lexington (N.C.), as the unit scored 12 in defeating Lexington (N.C.), 52-7.

The Knights were up 28-0 at the half after taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter.

North Davidson expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. ND scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Ketrick Eller.

A 28-point first quarter helped the Knights secure the big victory. North Davidson scored on a defensive touchdown, a touchdown pass by Chase Mitchell to Eli Moore, a Mitchell touchdown run and a touchdown run by Eller in the quarter.

ND's most effective player was Eller. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns.

The Yellowjackets' lone touchdown came on a 68-yard pass in the fourth quarter.



The Knights also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 27-20.

The loss was the third in a row for Lexington.

Lexington (1-4) goes up against Reagan in a non-conference game matchup next week, while North Davidson (5-0) locks horns with Asheboro also in a non-conference game.
