Basketball Recap: Everton Tigers vs. McAuley Catholic Warriors
This season hasn't been kind to the Everton Tigers, who are still winless after their 22nd match. They had to suffer through a rough 62-29 loss at the hands of McAuley Catholic.
Everton lost on Monday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Josh Daniels, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and six steals. Daniels hasn't dropped below two steals for 17 straight games.
Everton dropped their record down to 0-22 with that loss, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for McAuley Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Everton will be playing at home against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for McAuley Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Golden City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Friday.
