Volleyball Recap: Monterey Plainsmen vs. Amarillo Sandies

Monterey lost against Amarillo back in September, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Monterey Plainsmen lost 3-0 to the Amarillo Sandies. The Plainsmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-9, 25-15.

Amarillo got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenzye Williamson out in front who had eight digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Cash, who had 16 assists.

Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 20-19. As for Amarillo, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 34-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lubbock-Cooper the next time they take the court. Monterey will host Lubbock-Cooper at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Amarillo will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
